java and portability

While I have some experience with Java, I’ve never tried to run my stuff cross-platform. Never a real need. While most of the Java stuff has yet to be written, I took some basic serial code and GUI stuff, and tried to run it under Ubuntu. After copying the right library, and getting files where Java expected them, it ran like a charm! Serial ports are being detected, opened, and so on. The GUI is spot-on from Windows —> Ubuntu.

True Interoperability? Scary. Well, we’ll see. 🙂
